Our Story

Liz Polomsky

the maiden of honor

My beautiful little sister and I’m so very excited, and honored, she agreed to stand next to me on my wedding day! Liz currently keeps busy with volleyball, basketball, friends, keeping me up to speed with the latest in music and celebrity gossip, shopping, and getting ready for high school next year. Don’t let that fool you though she is WAY MORE than a typical teenage girl :] She is great for staying in on any given day with in sweatpants and watching movies all day – we have the best nights just ordering in food and watching girly movies and Full House marathons!

She is truly one in a million and has made being a big sister one of the most fulfilling things in my life. I actually bet I have learned more from her than she has from me (other than NOT to get your car locked in the garage downtown during a Cartel concert)

Liz : maiden of honor

Kelli Bacik

future sister-in-law

Jared’s sister who I have liked since the MINUTE I met her at Blind Pig (even though Jared awkwardly had me guess her age immediately after ha). She has been such a great friend over the past three years and was amazing to have right down the street when I moved to Westlake. Through Beer Olympics, Happy Hours, shopping excursions, soccer games at whatever bar or apartment showing them, game/wine nights, and numerous Browns tailgates, I definitely always have a BLAST with Kelli there. Kelli is so sweet and has always been more than just Jared’s sister to me. I’m so excited to call her family soon!

Kelli

Kara Bacik

future sister-in-law

Kara is Jared’s sister in law and she is an amazing kindergarten teacher. I have so much respect and admiration already for the love she has for her profession, family, and friends. She is truly a gorgeous person inside and out. Kara has two ADORABLE children Eliza and Brady. Brady will be our handsome ring bearer and Eliza is going to be our sweet little flower girl! I cant WAIT to have Kara as my sister in law so she can teach me all about being married into a Nittany Lion family ha! I’m seeing a lot of margarita nights in our near future :]

Kara

Carolyn Bajbus

friend

Jared’s childhood friend and one of my best girlfriends from Padua. Carolyn always has THE best way to put things into perspective for me when I am having a bad day. She lives in Raleigh, North Carolina currently and we have too many memories to mention. From numerous house rollings (that we still wouldn’t admit to) and of course that infamous “fishy” federal offense in high school to the shenanigans of St. Patrick’s day 2007, OSU games, long nites at the Sip N Post and Beer Olympic rivalries… its never a dull moment with CB and Jared and I are SO blessed to have her in our lives!

Carolyn

Jen Satow

friend

One of my best girlfriends from Padua. Jenny Rae and I go waaay back to Freshman year History Class and although we went to different colleges (Jen went to Dayton) we have always remained close. We love chip and dip nites, recalling stories of me trying to dye her hair purple in high school, making her try fake nails that got glued somehow to my kitchen counter, and of course those crazy Hallmark days when we worked together! Jenny is such a genuine person and she can ALWAYS make me laugh. She is like a sister to me and I’m so excited to have her up there on the big day!

Jen

Karalee Hasse

friend

One of the first people I met at Miami and one of my best friends. Best known for her crazy theme parties (including Name Tag parties and Denim Explosion) and her extensive world travels. Karalee lives in Chicago with husband, Brian. Many fond memories of Karalee at Country Night at 45 dancing with the townies, late night Bagel and Deli runs, MANY Cleveland/Columbus trips, Senior year cruise in the Caribbean where we toga’d and learned to not share loofahs! (Don’t worry we didn’t share them), and of course those fanny packs she rocks out! I can’t wait to see her newest dance moves at the wedding!

Karalee

Erin McKenna

friend

Erin is one of my best friends from Miami. Erin and I lived together throughout most of our Redhawk career. We have been through crazy roommate adventures, pet hedgehogs, broomball games, my incessant fear of dehydration after a long nite of chasing shots with wine – I got chills writing that - and cold stone creamery study breaks. Erin lives in Pittsburgh with her husband Ryan and two cuddly Pomeranians, Rocko and Teddy. Best known for hosting THE best Ugly Christmas Sweater Parties and is a fellow fan of The Bachelor and boxed wine! You couldn’t find a more loyal friend than Erin (Cline) Mckenna!

Erin

Eliza Bacik

flower girl - future niece

Eliza is Jared’s niece, goddaughter, and our flower girl for the BIG day. Eliza is 2 years old and is one of our top four reasons to visit Archbold, Ohio as much as we can! Eliza is adorable with her polished pink nails, big amazing eyes, and an adorable smile to match. I love playing tea party with her, coloring, and reading one of her many "pig" themed books with her. Eliza has had to overcome so many obstacles already in her life and to know that she will be there for the big day is truly an answer to our prayers. Jared and I couldn’t be happier to be blessed with her in our lives.

Jason Bacik

the best man

My older, wiser brother that I couldn’t fit the title BEST MAN more perfectly! I had the honor of going first and being his best man around 8 years ago and every word I said to him them I mean even more now. From helping me "loose" my baby teeth (usually his fault) to being the best teammate (and opponent) in every sport or game possible Jason has always been there for me.

Now I need him more than ever to help me sweat out my tux on the alter! I can't begin to describe how great of a brother, friend, and mentor he’s been to me. Jason is also the father of the cutest flower girl and coolest ring bearer ever and husband to the best sister-in-law.

bestman

Tim Polomsky

future brother-in-law

Tim is Kristen’s older brother who graduated from OSU last summer. Like most of my close friends that is the first thing I had to get past. But his love for Jack Frost and Bauer helps me look past all that. Since he graduated and moved I had the opportunity to hang out with him more. He’s always down for either coming out with Kristen and me for a night at the bar, an entire St. Patty’s Day, a weekend road trip, or just hanging in and watching some Sunny, Office or 24. We even got him in his first OSU/UM drinking game last year. I’m thrilled to call him brother in law soon!

bestman

Patrick Polomsky

future brother-in-law

Kristen youngest brother, Patrick is a currently at Xavier and just turning 21 (just in time for the bachelor party). Even though he’s away most of the year, I’ve been able to grow close to when he is around. He’s always to quick to celebrate a Browns win (which may not be often) and congratulate me on a good PSU game. Patrick even stepped in and played on my basketball team last summer. We are definitely looking forward to him and Liz keeping the dance floor alive at the reception. Patrick’s going to be a great brother-in-law and I’m excited for him to be up there with me.

bestman

Dan Jindra

friend since padua

Dan was one of the first people I met at Padua, on the football field. Despite the size difference, we would get lined up for receiver drills all the time, particularly blocking, where Dan loved sending me to the track. So although I’d didn’t love him at first, it didn’t take long for Dan and me to become great friends. At Padua, we had a lot of great stories: rooming at basketball camps, and working at Petitti’s. We went to different colleges but made some great road trips to Dayton and Toledo. Dan started the year off with an adorable baby girl, Annalise. I’m excited to be moving within a mile of him and even more excited to have him there for the big day!

bestman

Sean Osysko

friend since kindergarten

I met Sean most likely over some cars/blocks at Holy Family's Kindergarten class. Through HF, we were inseparable playing every sport imaginable together. That continued to high school and even today. Sean was always there for me, whether we were teammates against my brother or other schools, making killer blanket forts or just hanging out. We rolled a lot of house in our day (incl. Carolyns a few times), went out all the time in high school, and had many trips up and down I-75 in college. Sean and his wife, Rachel, recently had a gorgeous baby girl, Kailey. I probably have a million and one stories and can’t wait to add Kristen and I’s wedding day to it!

bestman

John Yurik

friend since padua

I met John at Padua, and he was the cool underclassman that was hanging out with us upperclassmen. Ever since then we’ve had nothing but great times. I’ve lived with John for the past two years and as the picture shows anyone around him is usually laughing. Even though my friends and I gave him a great tour of Toledo, he went to the other side of 75, but frequented our place often. Whether it was Bar Day, Beer Olympics, or KI trips he’s usually at the center of the fun. So watch out for him on the dance floor.

bestman

David Rieker

friend since toledo

I met Dave early freshman year at Toledo and ended up living with him for the next 4 years starting at the notorious 2015 Alvin. I even help move Dave out to Vegas with a 30+ hour road trip of a lifetime. We have a lot of stories from Toledo flipping house upside down, singing late night power hours, and more trips to Jakes than anyone could count (or even remember). Dave was always the go to beer pong partner at UT and always done for trip down 75 to visit Yurik at BG. Dave currently lives down in Columbus and although it’s in the heart buckeye country there is a Sonic right on the way so it’s not that bad to visit.

bestman

Brady Bacik

ring bearer - nephew

Brady is my nephew and our ring bearer for the BIG day. He will be just turning 5 shortly after the wedding. Brady is an adventurous, fun-loving, big brother that I love to visit. Whether it’s playing on my iPhone or Wii Sports, or playing golf, baseball and basketball outside, Brady is a blast to play with. It’s amazing how grown up he looks every time we get we see him or get a picture from Jason & Kara. I can’t wait until he can start coming to Penn State games and am even more excited he’s going to be a part of day!!

The Polomksys In a special way we wanted to dedicate part of this site to four people who are the most important people in our lives, our parents.

They have been nothing but devoted, supportive, encouraging, and a true example of what we aspire to be as people, friends, a brother, a sister, and parents. Through the years we have come to realize how much they have sacrificed for our education, our dreams, and our happiness. We could never thank them enough and although this is a small token of our appreciation for all they have given to us, including all the assistance with the BIG day, we hope that it is at least a small recognition for their never ending love and faith in us.

The Baciks We will never forget the days and nights they took care of us when we were sick or all the birthday parties they tried to make so special each year. The basketball games, cheerleading events, football games, theatrical performances, volleyball games, driving lessons, school award ceremonies, communions, confirmations, all the teams they helped coach and homework and projects they stayed up to help us with -- through it all, win or lose, they remained our number one fans.

We thank you for being our hand to walk us into that first day of class, the car ride to our first day of college, and now again holding our hands as we walk down the aisle towards each other. We wouldn’t want our BIG day to be anything but you four in that first row with us!

Thank you for always being there and truly making us better people every day of our lives by living for us, praying for us, sacrificing for us and giving us such a perfect example of selflessness and love.
